The Casino Marketing Strategy
A casino is a place where people play games of chance for money. Some casinos have added luxuries like restaurants, free drinks and stage shows to attract players. But the gambling activities are always at the core of the casino.
The games of chance are what attracts most gamblers to casinos. From classic table games such as blackjack and poker to modern slot machines, casino patrons love the thrill of the unknown and the adrenaline rush of winning big or losing it all.
Casino features a few bravura set pieces and a few moments that would be at home in Paul Verhoeven’s Showgirls (like a prowling Steadicam zooming past the closed doors of an institutionalized system of grift). But it is Stone who spikes the movie’s energy early on, exulting in her ability to seduce men (“Smart hustlers like her could keep you awake for two or three days”) while lacking any sense of control or restraint.
Gambling revenues provide a vital source of income for many communities. This revenue enables politicians to fund community projects and avoid raising taxes elsewhere. Casinos also generate jobs for the local population, lowering unemployment rates and raising average wages in the neighborhood surrounding the casino. In addition to the gaming floor, casinos often have luxurious hotels and cutting-edge technology, flexible event and entertainment spaces, and award-winning restaurants. They are also perfect venues for large group business, such as weddings and conferences. This makes it critical that they have the right marketing strategy to target these groups.
